How this is written
We have not handled the Loona. Nobody on this site has unboxed, charged or played with one. Everything here comes from what the maker publishes, plus the parts it does not highlight: the subscription terms, the privacy policy, the returns policy, the support record and the published specifications. Then we do the arithmetic a gift guide skips.
What we read
- ·KEYi Tech product and specification pages
- ·KEYi Tech privacy policy and wake-word documentation
- ·KEYi Tech returns policy
- ·Published dimensions and charging-dock specification
Buy it if
Households that want a large trick set without a monthly fee or an account.
Skip it if
You need a conversation partner. Loona understands commands, not open-ended talk.
What it really costs
The sticker price is not the price.

Privacy
What it records, and where it goes.
- ·Microphone activates on wake word by default
- ·No account needed for core play
- ·Local processing for most commands
What works
- +No mandatory subscription or account
- +Documented trick library is the largest of the three we cover
- +Core tricks run offline, so a server shutdown would not end play
- +Mic is wake-word gated rather than always listening, per the maker
What does not
- −Returns are accepted unopened only, so you cannot try it and send it back
- −The optional GPT add-on is a paid extra, and it is the headline feature in marketing
- −App and firmware sit with a small manufacturer, which is the usual support risk here
Specifications
| Connectivity | Wi-Fi, Bluetooth |
| Battery | About 2.5 hours |
| Offline Mode | Yes for core play |
| App Required | Optional |
Common questions
Is Loona worth it at the current price?
We do not publish a price history and we will not tell you whether this is the cheapest it has ever been, because we have not tracked it. What we can tell you is that the listing showed $499.00 as of 11/03/2026 14:12 UTC, and that the two-year cost including any plan is $499.00. Judge it on that, not on the percentage off.
What happens if the company shuts down?
Core play does not depend on a server, so the device keeps working. App-based extras would stop.
Does it need an account?
No account is required for normal use, which is unusual and worth knowing.
